We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent LTMO/Ganger to join our Area 10 Strategic Highways account based in Preston Brook, Runcorn.
 
At Amey, you'll play a vital role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of traffic management operations across the network. As an LTMO/Ganger, you will lead and supervise Traffic Management Operatives, ensuring all planned and emergency traffic management activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with Chapter 8 requirements.

The standard hours of work are 42 hours per week, working a 4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern.

What You Will Be Doing

 

  • Lead and supervise Traffic Management Operatives carrying out the installation, maintenance and removal of temporary traffic management on the strategic road network.
  • Ensure all traffic management activities are delivered safely and compliantly in accordance with Chapter 8 and National Highways requirements.
  • Attend project briefings and support effective planning and delivery of works.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environment and quality performance.
  • Mentor, support and coordinate apprentices and operatives working under your supervision.
  • Manage and maintain vehicles, plant and materials under your control, ensuring security, availability and compliance.
  • Carry out a range of highways maintenance activities, including drainage, fencing, kerbing, patching, signing and associated works where required.
  • Operate vehicles and plant equipment safely, including daily checks, routine maintenance and housekeeping activities.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, records and reporting requirements accurately and on time.
  • Liaise professionally with colleagues, supply chain partners, emergency services, police, clients, customers and members of the public.
  • Escalate any health and safety, performance or operational concerns to the relevant Supervisor.

 

We Want to Hear From You If You Have

 

Essential

 

  • LGV Class C Licence
  • NHSS 12A/B High Speed Traffic Management qualification
  • Appropriate Health, Safety, Environmental and Compliance training
  • CSCS Card or equivalent competency card
  • CITB Site Safety Management qualification (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience of Chapter 8 Traffic Management on high-speed roads
  • NRSWA qualification
  • Personal Highways Passport
  • Experience delivering emergency response and winter maintenance services
  • Experience leading and supervising teams installing traffic management
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to delivering solutions

 

Desirable

 

  • Additional Traffic Management qualifications
  • Experience working on National Highways contracts
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience within highways maintenance operations
